Biography and speech of Peter Bunting

Peter Bunting is Assistant General Secretary of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions. He has responsibility for co-ordinating and developing the trade union movement in Northern Ireland where the Northern Ireland Committee of ICTU represents 36 trade unions and 222,000 members. He is involved in the Board of Northern Ireland Transport Holding Company, the Management Committee of Counteract, the Management Committee of NI Anti-Poverty Network, Belfast City Council’s Good Relations Committee, the Economic Development Forum and the Concordia Social Partnership Alliance. Prior to his current post he served as General Secretary of the National Bus and Rail Union in the Republic of Ireland.
